SETTLEMENT

Great Guana Cay is located approximately 7 miles from Marsh Harbour, Abaco, Bahamas. It is approximately seven miles long and varies in width from 200 yards to one quarter of a mile. One of the most beautifull beaches in the Bahamas stretches along the Eastern shore. The sand is like powder. The world's third largest reef is from 50' to 300' off shore, providing for great snorkeling and diving. Guana has one settlement which is home to approximately 110 residents.






Transportation and Customs:

Guana is serviced by air from West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Orlando and Nassau. Service is available via Continental Connection, American Eagle, and Bahamas Air. Service is also available from Fort Lauderdale via Yellow Air Taxi.   Vintage Props & Jets fly from Orlando, Melbourne and Daytona.

Upon arrival in Abaco you will need to clear customs. In order to clear customs you need to provide either a passport if arriving by air or a passport or"raised seal" birth certificate and pictured drivers license if arriving via a boat.


After clearing customs you will take a taxi to the harbour where you will connect with a ferry, (Click Here For Schedule) ,that will take you to Guana Cay. Upon arriving at Guana you will be met by our caretaker who will transport you to our house.

Transportation while visiting Guana is via "foot" or golf cart. Golf carts can be rented from Donna Sands(242-365-5195). A fifteen minute walk down the beach will take you to Nippers. A fifteen minute walk along the roads will take you to the Settlement.

Groceries:  Groceries are available on Guana at Guana Harbour Grocery. Guana Harbour Grocery has a good selection of meats, bread, milk, canned goods and non prescription drugs. Contact information is: Guana Harbour Grocery

Liquor:  Liquor is available on Guana at the Fig Tree Liquor Store. Liquor can also be purchased in Marsh Harbour.


BEACH
Dining:    Shorecrest II has a fully equipped kitchen, complete with view, for your dining pleasure. If you prefer to eat out, the following restaurants serve excellent food:

HARBOUR
Boating:   A community dock is available for docking a boat within a 5 minute(approx. 1200') walk. Some suggested boat rental companies:
